Maker Faire is a gathering of fascinating, curious people who enjoy learning and who love sharing things they can create. From artists to engineers, Maker Faire is a venue for “makers” to demonstrate their hobbies and show off experiments and projects that are complete or still in progress.
The 4th annual Rochester Mini-Maker Faire takes place on Saturday, November 18 at the Rochester Riverside Convention Center and will attract makers and visitors from throughout the region. Last year, Maker Faire featured 115 maker exhibits and welcomed close to 3,000 guests.
Guests will have chance to witness creations from robots to rockets. Attending the event will allow guests to experience urban farming and sustainability projects, digital fabrication, alternative energy, bicycles, and unique hand-made crafts. In addition to cool projects created by Rochester artists and engineers, guest will enjoy great music, local food and educational workshops.
Last year, the Maker Faire exhibits included The Hell Blazer Fire Carnival Game, hand-on robotics, board and computer games created by local residents, primitive tool making, 3D printers, CNC machine and other leading-edge inventions and technologies. Student projects from local schools and colleges will also be available for display and play.
