105.5 The Beat Rochester staff stopped by Flyehi Klub at 452 West Main Street to listen in on a conversation about the Rep Your Brand Fashion Show (more information on that dope event coming soon) taking place this spring.
While there, we couldn’t help but to notice the custom-designed Black History Month Stan Smith Adidas on display inside the glass checkout counter.
We learned that Flyehi Klub is commemorating Black History Month with a sneaker raffle where proceeds benefit a local community neighborhood association. How dope is that!?
The rules of the raffle are quite simple. All you have to do is stop by the boutique to purchase a raffle ticket for just one dollar. Supporters must print their contact information on the ticket. All proceeds from the raffle will benefit the Southwest Area Neighborhood Association (SWAN), a neighborhood association that is dedicated to improving the quality of life for the residents and families in the southwest community. For a better chance at winning a pair of the custom-designed sneakers, supporters are encouraged to purchase in bulk. Online users are encouraged to contact the store to determine on-line giving options.
Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., Harriet Tubman, Malcolm X and an artistic reference to Baseball Hall of Famer, Jackie Robinson are beautifully drawn around the sneaker. Creative artist RJ Smith is an artistic contributor to the Flyehi Klub brand and responsible for the designs. Unfortunately, there are only two pairs available so just two people will walk away with a size 8 or size 9.
The raffle concludes on Wednesday, February 28. There will be a random drawing on Match 1. Winners will be notified by phone.
Blake and Keiko are co-owners at Flyehi Klub and they believe it’s important for them to promote their charitable raffle because it allows them another chance to commemorate Black History Month while raising some money to enhance for-impact initiatives in Rochester.
“We are both from the community so we want to make sure we provide opportunities to return the love as often as we are able,” said Blake and Keiko.
