We’re  excited to help promote the success of Black Panther. We’re proud of our recent collaboration with The Center for Youth Services and Champion Academy, raising funds to purchase tickets for their youth to watch the film during opening week by accepting the #BlackPantherChallenge, a pledge to help send local youth to the theaters to watch the movie.

The success of Black Panther is remarkable. The film has broken a list of records and we’re pumped about our small but meaningful contribution to the films success. See more about Black Panther’s record breaking numbers here. The movie is embedded with so many historical and modernly significant messages, we believe it makes sense to watch it a second time.

We’re encouraging local young professionals and movie lovers to join us–we’re going #Back2Wakanda! It’s simply going back to the movie theater to watch Black Panther, again! We’re headed to Cinemark Tinseltown USA and IMAX On Saturday, February 24 to catch the 6:20 PM showing of Black Panther in 3D. If you plan to meet some of our staff and listeners at the theater, you are encouraged to dress in Wakanda-inspired attire.

After the viewing, Side Bar, a local African American owned lounge will host a small after party for movie-goers. The artsy lounge will offer  Wakanda specialty drinks named after the fictional African country in the film. Side Bar will also offer discounted combo meals featuring jerk chicken, mac salad and two alcoholic beverages for just ten dollars. Promotions will last until 11 PM and only offered to guests dressed in Wakanda-inspired attire.

Each person is responsible for purchasing their own movie ticket. Tickets can be purchased directly at Cinemark Tinseltown or online via Fandango. Attendees should wear Wakanda-inspired attire to in order to receive perks at the after-party.

Let us know if you plan to meet us there. Comment below or share this event throughout your social media communities.
