The U.S. Department of Labor has awarded the Urban League of Rochester $2.5 million to implement two reentry programs.The first program, “Project Steps to Success,” will serve 125 young adults who have been involved in the justice system.

The second program, “Project B.E.A.M.” (Build, Educate, Advance, and Motivate) will serve 188 adults who have been formerly incarcerated.

The Urban League of Rochester was one of 41 nonprofits and local and state governments to receive funding for these programs.  — DEMOCRAT AND CHRONICLE
