

Rochester native wins Grammy for Best Contemporary Instrumental album

World-famous drummer, Steve Gadd Band won a Grammy for Best Contemporary Instrumental album at the 61st annual Grammy Awards.
He was presented with the award before the prime time show. It is his first Grammy.
The 73-year-old drummer graduated from Eastridge High School and the Eastman School of Music. He was inducted into the Rochester Music Hall of Fame in 2018.
He has played with some of music’s most well-known artists, including Paul Simon, Grover Washington Jr., Eric Clapton and James Taylor.
Gadd will be one of the headlining artists for the 2019 CGI Rochester International Jazz Festival.
