The 8-year-old girl who drowned at a Henrietta hotel last month will be remembered at a vigil in Rochester Friday night.
Jamielath Kabba was swimming with her family at the Residence Inn on Jefferson Road on March 23 when she was found at the bottom of the pool. A man pulled her out and began CPR, but the girl was pronounced dead after being taking to Strong Memorial Hospital.
Days later, the Monroe County Sheriff’s Office ruled the drowning an accident and said no charges would be filed.
Kabba was a second-grader at Flower City School No. 54.
The vigil will be held at Troup Street Park in Rochester at 7:30 p.m. Friday.
