WLGZ-FM The Beat 1055 will be at University Prep Charter School for Young Men (UPREP) this week to premiere a unique challenge coined “The Pop-up Homework Series,” an engagement tactic used to help school administrators and teachers reinforce positive behavior and academic excellence.

For the series, Rochester students will be charged to complete a unique video challenge addressing the impact of a particular topic. All assignments will be submitted via social media in an effort to show students how social media can also be used in a positive way. This will be an on-going community engagement initiative powered by the station.

The Pop-up Homework Series is open to all Rochester high school juniors and senior. However, University Preparatory Charter School has been selected as the primary focus for the first pop-up event. Three students from UPREP will receive tickets to Nick Cannon’s Wild ‘N Out– coming to the Blue Cross Arena on Saturday, May 4. A select amount of students from other area high schools throughout the city will also have a chance to win tickets to the show or other prizes.

To enter the contest, students must complete the assignment by 9 p.m. on Wednesday, May 1. Information on how to enter listed below.
