Minnesota Twins third baseman Miguel Sanó is scheduled to rehab with the Rochester Red Wings this weekend, the team announced Friday.
Sanó is set to play at Frontier Field on Saturday and Sunday as the Red Wings host the Durham Bulls. Both games have a 1:05 p.m. start time.
Sanó missed spring training after a procedure to repair a cut on his heel. The injury happened during a parade celebrating his team’s Dominican Winter League championship in January. The runner-up in the 2017 Home Run Derby, Sanó is batting .320/.367/.640 this season with two doubles, two home runs, two runs scored and eight RBI in seven games with Double-A Pensacola and Single-A Fort Myers.
Rochester begins a six-game road trip at Charlotte on Tuesday after Saturday and Sunday’s contests.
