Former Rochester City Court judge Leticia Astacio is expected to be released from jail on Friday.
This, according to the chief deputy at the Livingston County Jail.
In November, she was sentenced to serve 180 days in jail for violating her probation.
Astacio admitted to not showing up to her probation hearings, so that she could go before a judge and argue that the sentence for her DWI conviction is illegal.
Judge Elisabeth Toole said Astacio had been given “several chances”.
“You just decided you didn’t want to go anymore, so you stopped going. I’m not going to tolerate it,” Toole said. “Your actions show that you do whatever you do, whenever you want to do – and it stops today; it stops now.”
Astacio had originally been sentenced to a year of probation stemming from her 2016 DWI conviction. That sentence was extended due to sentence and probation violations.
