A protest is planned at The College at Brockport over the controversial firing of its Chief Diversity Officer, Cephas Archie.

Students plan to walk out of class at 11 a.m. on Thursday, then take part in a silent sit-in at the Seymour College Union.

There have been other protests in the wake of Archie’s firing, as well as a town hall held on the issue.

On Tuesday, News10NBC reported Brockport’s Diversity Recruitment and Retention Specialist Sandra Vazquez, Ed.D. resigned.

In a statement, the college said it’s committed to building a better Brockport, which includes efforts they’ve taken to diversify their faculty and staff.
