1055 The Beat Rochester supports the work of The Heberande Foundation. The Heberande Foundation an organization located in a small village, in the Democratic Republic of Congo dedicated to helping the homeless, abandon and orphaned children.

Rochester resident Grace Muwawa is founder of the foundation. Hailing from the Democratic Republic of Congo, Muwawa is vocal about her transition from Africa to the United States. Her story is very complex but Muwawa wont let the unfortunate circumstances she has experienced in life get in the way of creating new opportunities for those who are underprivileged and travel in the same shoes she once did.

The night was drenched with creative beings that poured out their most beautiful and artistic pieces to help heighten the work of The Heberande Foundation.
