Panasonic is expanding its presence in Rochester.
The company announced Thursday it will be occupying the first and 21st floor of the First Federal Plaza Building in downtown Rochester. The latter is the former site of the Changing Scene restaurant.
“We’re truly excited to be part of an increasing number of companies moving into a revitalized downtown Rochester,” Panasonic Vice President, Dr. George Daddis, Jr., said in a statement. “The level of talent, energy and motivation here is second to none. We are proud to play a role in the growth and redevelopment of this technology corridor.”
This year, Panasonic bought the locally-based Omni-ID’s Industrial Internet of Things Solutions Group.
The company’s Rochester team will serve as part of the Panasonic Industrial Devices Sales Company of America and will include marketing, sales, engineering and administrative jobs.
Panasonic says there are current openings for sales, support and software and hardware engineering positions.
A grand opening and ribbon cutting for the downtown location is scheduled for November.
